Well I'm trying to schedule dogs so that I can pick my son up at 2:30 from school & go back to work.
It seems if I have more dogs in the morning, I get more done. Hm? So I'm going to have to rethink the scheduling. My only problem is my clients are used to having their dogs back quickly. If I do 2,3,4 appts. at a time, someone will have to wait!

Well today wasn't too bad, busy but not crazy.
I added some pics to groompics page. I put up a picture of a Bichon I groomed yesterday. A before & after pic. He was a sweetie.
Still can't get those heads right. Someone come to my grooming room and help me get them rounder!!

mood: exhausted, frustrated
Well as you can see I had a rough day.
More on that later.
What just topped it off is that there is a CRAZY GROOMER in my area that is pshycho!!
She has a groomer website, filled with her alter ego's, ie: multiple screen names. She actually holds conversations with herself! Lately those conversations are saying mean things about me.
Anyone that knows me, knows I am a good person!!
She takes anything and everything I post on other grooming sites and twists them & creates lies.
She's obsessed with harassing me! I've never even taken part in her site, ever. But for some reason she continues to create havoc! I have a friend that relates anything that is written about me.
The rest I don't care about.
Oh I could go on & on!!
I have some great friends in this area that are local groomers. Good people.
This one though, I regret the day I ever met her!! I've never met anyone so rude, mean, deceitful, and just plain psycho!!
Calgon take me away!!!

Mondays are turning out to be a big loss!!
My first 2 appointments, well on owner, 2 dogs, called at 9 (her appt. time) to cancel. She knows that I won't be able to fit her in anywhere, so she said, see you in two weeks! (she comes in every 2wks.)
I was able to reach one person on my cancellation list & had a poodle come in. But still at a 1 dog loss.
Then my 1pm appt. is over an hour late. My 2:30 came, my 3:30 no showed.
Can you say, "LOST WAGES!"?
UGH!!
I hope this doesn't turn into a week of this. I'm booked out till the end of August. There's no room to switch anyone around!!
I'm going to try to add some pics to my pic page on my blog. I groomed the cutest 2lb full grown Maltese today. I took pictures!!

Yesterday a client with a American Eskimo, matted/packed not groomed often, was very rude & complained about how long her pet was there.
Again you never think of the right thing to say at the right time, but I should have explained that my "regulars" are priority, and will be completed first. (Saturdays I take a few more dogs, because of necessity and will have 3-5 dogs in at 9am and they will be in various stages of grooming through the morning to early afternoon) Her dog was a mess and how can I make that dog priority when there are others, that come weekly to every 4 weeks? Am I wrong?
Anyway, I didn't get to say that, because I never think quickly....

mood: frustrated, tired... shall I say more?
What an unproductive day!
Spent way too much time on a persian cat that got a bath & blow dry & haircut with a #0 comb w/CV all over. Just WAY too much time!!
Bill my co-worker had Tyler (Shih Tzu) today, well Tyler is very nasty about having his face done, and not so great for the rest!
He just couldn't get his face done, so he offered for us both to try at the end of the day...
Well there was NO getting near this dogs face. It just wasn't happening!!
His owner came, we showed him how Tyler acts. Of course his owner is shocked, his dog is behaving this way.
I wish I had thought to say, "if you brushed him at home, you'd KNOW he acts this way!!"
UGH!! Needless to say we couldn't get it done. We offered some suggestions. We DON'T want this dog back, it's too risky for him (biting at scissors) and for us (getting bitten)
It was frustrating to say the least.
The day dragged on, just on and on and on.....
Luckily my son Dylan was there to help with the ongoing cleanup, (laundry, vacuuming, cage cleaning)
Otherwise I'd have never gotten home!!
What a all around frustrating day! Not even a big money day!! (not even a big tip day!)

mood: blurry
Tues. & Wed are just about a blur!!
Last night we couldn't find one of our cats. Our cats are strictly indoors. We figured, Sneakers couldn't have gotten out but we couldn't find him!! We turned the house upside down to no avail.
I started to panic and think somehow he got out. By now it was 1:30am and we were all crying.
Dylan & I fell asleep, finally, but Cody was still awake. He went into Dylan's room and heard a MEOW!!!
He woke me up, (my heart was racing from the sudden waking, I thought I'd faint!) and we went into the bedroom, sat & listened and heard something, a tiny sound in the dresser. Even our other cat Layla heard it. So Cody started opening the drawers, out popped Sneakers!! Thank goodness! We woke Dylan to tell him & we all went to sleep. Except for Sneakers that is, he ate & used the potty!!
Seemed all I did today was brush matted dogs. We are so busy, a couple of groomer friends said they were very slow. Not us! I always tell other groomers, it really makes a difference when your clients pre-book their next appointments. Then you stay busy once you have enough clients, and life is much smoother.
